Job Description

Our client is a rapidly expanding, international supplier of electromechanical products for industrial applications. Their experience of manufacturing in accordance with very high safety standards makes them a reliable source of for many lines of industry.

In addition, their recently acquired UK division, based in the north west of England, has, for more than 35 years, had a reputation for delivering high quality products to the Materials Handling industry.  They have built their reputation on working closely with both OEM's and service companies by providing new and replacement electro mechanical parts and accessories for fork lift trucks.

The company has recently embarked on a new phase in its development and an important element of this is the newly created role of UK Sales Manager, who will be a key member of the team.  This is an exciting opportunity for someone to be in at the beginning of this period of growth which, for the right candidate, could offer them an excellent career path into senior management.  

Although the territory is the whole of the UK, the ideal candidate would be located in the area bounded by Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham and Northampton.  Candidates  should ideally be technically qualified to HNC level or equivalent in an electrical/mechanical discipline, although demonstrable technical competence would be acceptable.  The must also be able to demonstrate several years successful sales experience selling premium quality electrical component products in industrial markets to a broad range of sectors, e.g. material handling, transportation, telecom and communications.  Experience in selling replacements parts would be an advantage.

The key functions of the role will be: To travel within the territory and search for new customers that could benefit from the company's products; To cover all geographical regions methodically to maximise the opportunities efficiently; To establish new and maintain existing long term relationships with customers, who will range from small owner operated businesses to very large corporates.
