Conceptual thinking in the development of new designs and assigned products in accordance with customer requirements, project objectives, corrective actions from manufacturing and the company's quality procedures/standards.
Develop a full working knowledge of the Autodesk Inventor System used within the Engineering Department and/or any other design software deemed necessary to fulfil the job function.
Full responsibility and initiative in the development of the product and techniques.
Develop the function to achieve the standard of Right First time.
To be commercially aware with regard to product costs and project costs control.
Proven technical awareness with customer/vendor contact.
Understand all legislative requirements with regard to assigned products/new projects and ensure that all are met.
Interface and keep close communications with other departments at all levels.
Be self-motivated and responsible for own time management and fulfilment of the work process
Control of workload to agreed time scales and working schedules.
Good knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and basic knowledge of electrical engineering principles.
Preparation of detailed drawings.
The ability to check designs and detailed drawings
Drawing release/control in accordance with the company's systems and procedures.
Understanding of Stress Analysis/Finite Element Analysis.
Generation of Bills of material to meet Sales Order requirements.
Composing of Technical Service Bulletins
Troubleshooting and faultfinding the products.

Qualifications
Minimum of HNC in mechanical engineering.
Apprenticeship in mechanical engineering.
Minimum Experience:
Three years minimum experience within a similar role in heavy vehicle design.
