THE ROLE
Following recent significant contract awards, our client is now enjoying a robust and enviable order book. As Far East Government Sales Manager will join a team of other experienced UK & International Sales Managers reporting to the Sales & Marketing Director.
In this role you will be responsible for the ownership of profitable order intake from International Governments through a network of Agents. You will be responsible for the management, development and expansion of their Far East business both tactically and strategically.
The current level of business from the Far East is well established within a number of regions. You will be expected to expand this market with the introduction of new products and services. This will be achieved through direct government sales and via Joint Ventures in a number of regions. This process will involve the renegotiation of existing agents agreements, and where necessary the appointment of new agents.
You will be expected to identify new opportunities within the Far East market. This will require a structured approach to the assessment of the market. Once the research is complete, a report and presentation will be required to seek endorsement from the business to invest and developing these new markets.
The organisation is actively involved in several Joint Ventures so the successful candidate will have proven international experience of operating and managing within this environment.
Whilst you will be supported and encouraged by the Sales & Marketing Director, you will be expected to quickly grasp the business issues within your market sector. You will be expected to identify emerging requirements, build customer confidence, thereby ensuring preferred supplier status on future tenders.
Once the tender is received, you will direct the bid management process; ensuring that relevant departments are brought together to deliver a compliant, competitive and profitable bid. Once submitted you will own the negotiation and success of the tender.
You will also need to have the interest and ability to grasp engineering principles so that you can present/discuss with the client community in a credible and engaging manner.
