To support the Client Engineering Partner and Senior Systems Engineer(s) in ensuring that engineering solutions offered fully meet the customers' requirements and can be delivered on time and to budget. To lead system engineering activities within their area of specialism in support of individual bids and projects.
Key Accountabilities
§ Ensure successful delivery and implementation of the engineering solution, conducting technical liaison with the client, technical committees and stakeholders
§ Ensuring that requirements of a project or bid are clearly defined and understood.
§ Control and coordination of project system engineering functions including system requirements, system performance, system definition and design, system integration, system delivery, implementation and system testing.
§ Build cross-functional collaboration within the project and design teams and ensure the application of system engineering principles to work packages undertaken by internal and/or external multi-disciplinary design teams.
§ As required act as Customer interface for all system engineering issues relating to the specified scope of works.
Essential Skills and Experience
§ Systems engineering experience gained in the definition and delivery of large-scale complex and safety-critical infrastructure projects.
§ Strong systems engineering background covering more than 1 relevant engineering
discipline. Candidates will be selected to achieve the correct spread of specialisms.
§ Demonstrable experience gained in a major project delivery environment to include a working knowledge of all stages of the project lifecycle including design and testing.
§ Able to lead integration of systems concepts within the super-system.
§ Experienced in planning and overseeing highly complex system transitions to operations.
§ Demonstrates customer focus in all work carried out.
§ Proven ability to produce detailed cost estimates for complex projects.
§ Able to think broadly and understand the "cause and effect" of integrated systems
Implementation.
§ Willingness and ability to obtain relevant IRSE Licensing and Professional Accreditation if not already held.
Desirable Skills and Experience
Chartered Engineer status
IRSE Licensed for the area of specialism
Competent in the use of Primavera P3/P6
Rail Signalling systems
